LODGER BURGUNDY SOCKS

Overview

At Lodger we obsess about the details. And the foundation for a beautiful pair of shoes is a great pair of socks. In our opinion, the most comfortable socks are made from 100% mercerized cotton. And the finest grade of cotton available is called Filoscozia.

It begins when the longest, finest fibres of Egyptian cotton are combed and twisted into the base yarn. This yarn is then passed over an open flame so that all the microscopic threads are incinerated and a clean skein of cotton is left. This is then stretched to a very specific tension and mercerised in a bath of sodium hydroxide. The mercerisation of the cotton fibre increases its strength, lustre, affinity to dye, and increases it’s ability to absorb moisture.

Because of the Filoscozia cotton, a pair of Lodger socks will absorb more moisture than a regular cotton or polyester sock, keeping your feet comfortable. It will also keep its shape and colour after many washes. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
